| Occupancy sensors turn the
lights on instantly when detecting changes in heat across
a sector in the lens. This is typically the difference in
heat between a human body and the air temperature. It can
also be the heat difference between a forklift and the air
temperature.
The sensor is factory set to reset itself every 10 minutes
after it sees a difference in temperature. After you leave
the room the lights are on for 10 minutes. If you are in a
room, as long as the sensor can see you once every 10 minutes
the lights will stay on continuously. The sensors we use are
designed for higher up applications where the sensor can see
out further.
We have installed data loggers in many facilities which record
the occupancy, showing the amount of time throughout the day
that the space is occupied by workers. Typical sensor savings
range from 20% for manufacturing to up to 80% for a warehouse.
The longer your hours, the greater the occupancy sensor savings,
as typically the 2nd and 3rd shifts have fewer employees.
Approximately 90% of the fixtures we have sold have occupancy
sensors on them.
Along with energy savings, occupancy sensors can also qualify
your facility for a federal tax deduction of $.60/sq.ft.
